NOTIFICATION
WHEREAS, it has been decided by the State Government in the Sports Department to put in place the ‘New Sports Policy, 2015‘ as approved by the Cabinet in its 83rd meeting held on 26.05.2015;
AND, whereas, the said policy stipulates that “Players ,who have received Arjun Award, Khel Ratna Award, Dronacharya Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Khel Samman Award, Khel Guru Award, and Banglar Gourab Award will be allowed free travel in the state transport buses including deluxe buses, state run waterways and trams” and that “the players attending state level tournaments will be provided 75% concession on their bus tickets.”
NOW, THEREFORE, the Governor is hereby pleased to decide in public interest that:
Players, who have received Arjun Award, Khel Ratna Award, Dronacharya Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Khel Samman Award, Khel Guru Award, and Banglar Gourab Award will be allowed free travel in the State Transport buses owned and operated by STUs including all types of franchisee and Deluxe buses, STU run waterways and Trams. The Governor is further pleased to decide that players attending state level tournaments will be entitled to 75% concession on their bus tickets while making journey in the above buses.
This will come into force with effect from the date of its publication in the official Gazette. State Transport Undertakings will issue necessary passes to this effect.
