Lifting of Food Grains from Fair Price Shop Dealer

NOTIFICATION

WHEREAS the State Government Framed a policy of indenting/lifting of stock of foodgrains to ensure uninterrupted supply of articles to the ration card holders in 4 weeks a month through Public Distribution System in the State vide its notification No 360-FS Sectt/Food/4M-01/08, dated 17.01.2008;

AND WHEREAS in partial modification of the aforesaid notification, the State Government framed further policy vide its notification No. 1705-FS Sectt/Food/4M-1/2008, dated 21.07.2014, specifying the extension of time for lifting of foodgrains and S.K Oil by ration card holders throughout the State of West Bengal;

AND WHEREAS, with the introduction of Public Distribution System envisaged under the National food Security Act, 2013 as well as Rajya Khadya Suraksha Yojana scheme, it has become necessary and expedient to extend the option to the Ration Card Holders in the State of West Bengal for lifting of foodgrains and S.K. Oil in the manner hereinafter provided;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Governor is, in supersession of notification No. 360-FS/Sectt/Food/4M-01/08, dated 17.01.2008 and notification No. 1705-FS/Sectt/Food/4M-1/2008, dated 21.07.2014, pleased to notify as follows;

(1) In case of lifting of food grains from a Fair Price Shop dealer, the ration card holder shall have the option to lift the allocated quota of foodgrains,

a) for current week; or

b) for current week alongwith foodgrains of following week in advance; or

c) in case a ration card holder fails to lift his allocated quota of food grains for any week, or weeks within a period of eight weeks, at the time of lifting the foodgrains in any week within the said periods, he will have option to lift such quota of foodgrains, which has become due to him during the intervening period;

Provided that a ration card holder has to lift the foodgrains mentioned above in a single purchase only.

(2) In ease of procurement of S.K. Oil from a dealer, a ration card holder is entitled to lift his allocated quota of S.K. Oil for current week:

Provided that in case a ration card holder fails to lift his allocated quota of S.K. Oil for any week or weeks within a period of four weeks, at the time of lifting of S. K. Oil in any week within the said period, he is entitled to lift so much of such quota of S.K. Oil, which has become due to him within the intervening period;

Provided further that a ration card holder has to lift the S.K. Oil mentioned above in a single purchase only.

(3) For the purpose mentioned above, even Distributor, Wholesalers and fair Price Shop Dealer shall ensure the maintenance of stock of foodgrains as per the existing norms for the time being in force.
