NOTIFICATION
With a view to ensure availability of food grains to a ration card holder as per PDS/TPDS entitlement on a fortnightly basis, a ration card holder failing to lift his/her weekly entitlement during 1st and 3rd week of a month is being allowed to lift his/her lapsed quota during 2nd and 4th week of the same month respectively in addition to his/her normal weekly entitlement of 2nd and 4th week. Now, the government intends to further extend the benefit of lifting lapsed quota by a ration card holder.
I am, therefore, directed by order of the Governor to state in partial modification of this Department Memo No. 360-FS/Sectt./Food/4M-01/03 dated 17.01.2008 that all categories of ration card holders who failed to collect their weekly/ fortnightly quota in a week(s)/ fortnight(s), whichever is applicable, will be allowed to lift their lapsed quota in any week/fortnight of the same month and the following month also i.e. a ration card holder shall be able to draw his/her entitled quota during eight weeks following the week when his/her entitlement becomes due.
I am further directed to inform that in the case of lifting of S.K. Oil by a ration card holder, lapsed monthly S.K. Oil entitlement of a ration card holder will be allowed to be lifted by the ration card holder during the following month in addition to his/her normal monthly quota of S.K. Oil for that month.
Other provisions of the Memo No. 360-FS/Sectt./Food/4M-01/03 dated 17.01.2008 will remain unchanged.
This order will take effect from the date of issue of this order.
