Memo No. 258/BPE/2015 Date: 16.02.2015
Notification
The West Bengal Board of Primary Education had published notifications for holding Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) on the 30th day of March, 2014 for both the trained and untrained candidates in terms of the notification of the MHRD under section 23(2) of the RTE Act-2009 No. 1352(E), Date: 01-06-2011 and received application fees from the new candidates and allowed the unsuccessful trained and untrained TET-2012-candidates to appear at the said TET-Examination without fees. The Board was advised to postpone the said Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) due to general parliamentary elections-2014.
Now, the Department of School Education, Government of West Bengal, has informed (Vide their memo No. 66-SSE/15/ES/EE/10-R-3/12, Date: 04-02-2015) that the Department of School Education wrote to the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, for grant of extension of relaxation of training qualification beyond 31-03-2014 due to insufficient availability of trained candidates, but the MHRD has not granted the said extension, although the same has been granted to other states like Assam, Tripura, Odisha and Uttara Khand.
The Department of School Education, Government of West Bengal, having no other alternative, has decided to direct this Board to hold the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for Primary Schools as per the NCTE guidelines and with the minimum qualifications as prescribed by the NCTE without any relaxation in cancellation of all the earlier notifications for holding the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) on 30-03-2014.
Hence it is notified that the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) will be held in terms of the NCTE guidelines for the candidates, having the minimum qualifications, prescribed by the NCTE. The details regarding the date, rules and regulations of the said TET will be published shortly. It is further notified that all the earlier notifications for holding Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)-2014 stand cancelled.
