Sir/ Madam,

In commemoration of the 125th birth anniversary of great patriot Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and keeping in mind the contribution made by the Ajad Hind Fauj during Indian National Freedom Movement and the famous slogan “Jai Hind”, the State Government has decided to constitute a dedicated students Cadet Corps by the name of “Jai Hind Bahini” in all schools by imparting suitable training to the students studying in Class IX-XII in a phased manner under the administrative control of the School Education Department.

I am enclosing a copy of West Bengal State Policy and guidelines as notified by the School Education Department, on Jai Hind Bahini for your perusal.

I am further enclosing a copy of notification no. 919-SE/S/10M-27/2022 dated 19th July, 2022 issued by the School Education Department constituting State/District/Kolkata level Committee for appropriate supervision and smooth implementation of the scheme.

During current Financial Year, the State Government has decided to raise 4 (four) battalions, namely, Barrackpore Battalion, Kolkata Battalion, Jungal Mohal Battalion and North Bengal Battalion. The School Education Department is the Nodal Department to implement the scheme. The Principal Secretary and/or Shri Kajal Kanti Saha, Joint Secretary & State Nodal Officer (Mobile no. 6291216036) for JHB in the School Education Department shall be in touch with you with detailed action plan and guidelines. I would suggest you to identify one District Nodal Officer not below the rank of Deputy Magistrate & Deputy Collector as District Nodal Officer (preferably District Education Officer) immediately, for taking suitable further action at District/Sub-division level as per the enclosed policy and guidelines.
