Memo No: HFW/NRHM-186/2010/1834, Dated: 23.07.2012
From: Dilip Ghosh, IAS

To: 1. CMOH, ………………………… District.
Sir/Madam,
Sub: Revised Training Strategy for ASHAs
This has reference to the training of ASHAs in the 1st five rounds which has been going on in the districts. In this context, it may be noted that as per recommendations of MoHFW, GoI, the entire training strategy for ASHAs has been revisited and redesigned by the State. It has now been decided that an orientation training will replace the 1st five rounds of ASHA training, after which, the ASHAs will gradually get inducted into the 6th and 7th modules training.
Thus, henceforth,
- All ASHAs, after selection, will undergo the orientation training before being inducted into the 6th & 7th modules.
- All ASHAs who have already been selected, but are yet to complete the 2nd round training of the erstwhile 1st 5 rounds, will undergo the orientation training before being inducted into the 6th & 7th modules.
- All ASHAs, who have completed the 2nd round training of the erstwhile 1st 5 rounds, will be gradually inducted into the 6th & 7th modules.
It may hence be noted that all on-going trainings are being discontinued with effect from 31st July 2012. The new training strategy will be effective on and from 1st September 2012. A detailed guideline in this regard will follow soon.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,
Sd/- Dilip Ghosh
State Mission Director (NRHM) & Secretary to Govt. of West Bengal
