MEMORANDUM
Subject: Revision of pension of pre-01.01.2016 pensioners.
The undersigned is directed to state that in terms of para 4.4 of Memo. No. 535-F(Pen), dated 01.10.2019, read with para 2 of Memo. No. 681-F(Pen), dated 23.12.2019, the revised pension under W.B.S. (R.O.P.A.) Rules, 2019 of a Govt. pensioner who retired after completing minimum qualifying service for full pension (i.e. 33 years/ 20years as the case may be) before 01.01.2016 cannot be less than 50% of the minimum of the pay in the Pay Matrix in the revised pay structure corresponding to the pre-revised pay-scale/ pre-revised pay structure from which the pensioner had retired.
(2) Now, the undersigned is directed to state that the Governor is pleased, in partial modification of para 4.4 of Memo. No. 535-F(Pen), dated 01.10.2019, to decide that the pension of the pre-01.01.2016 pensioners, in no case, shall be lower than 50% of the corresponding minimum of the revised pay structure under W.B.S. (ROPA) Rules, 2019 introduced with effect from 01.01.2016 for the post last held by them.
(3) Formal amendment to the relevant rule will be made in due course.
