Sub: Involvement of special educators of SSA with the academic activities of the formal schools of the concerned district with the aim of assuring Inclusive Education in all schools.

Apropos the subject captioned above, it is known to him that Inclusive Education is now operational across the State in the on going programmes like SSA & RMSA under aegis of School Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal. The focus is mainstreaming and imparting quality education to all school aged children irrespective of their level and nature of disability Since the Govt. is very keen to lay emphasis on the education of those children differently abled, certain posts of special educators have been created under SSA to support those children in the day-to-day teaching learning process. This is further to inform that pursuant to the order of Secretary, School Education Department (No. 880-SE (pry)/P/SSA-6/2010, Dated: 16.11.10) Special Educators of SSA shall visit selected primary/ and secondary schools periodically in a regular fashion in the school hours with the aim of promoting activities related inclusive education. They may be present in the inclusive classes for providing hand holding support to teachers and differently abled children. The concerned Special Educator shall submit the lesson plan for each inclusive teaching learning process in the classroom to the H.M. well ahead and H.M. concerned in term shall intimate the same to the concerned class teacher for his /her perusal & knowledge.
A schedule intimating the date of school visit of the assigned special educators will be intimated from the office of concerned DPO/ CPO, SSM of respective districts to the concerned school (s) directly with a copy to your end. It is therefore necessary that a separate Attendance Register is be kept at the school office for attendance of special educators deputed to the concerned school.
