Arjun Vahini

Arjun Vahini shall perform the following functions: a) Rapid deployment during disasters b) Search, rescue and evacuation operations c) Emergency relief support d) Assistance in disaster preparedness and mitigation activities e) Community awareness and capacity building

“Arjun Vahini” – A State-Level Special Disaster Response Squad

A team of 200 Ex-Agniveer personnel to be known as ‘Arjun Vahini’ is hereby constituted whereby 100 such personnel shall be deployed in Kolkata, 50 in Sundarban region and 25 each in the hill districts of Darjeeling and Kalimpong.
