Contract carriage permits shall be issued in Form XV of WBMV Rules, 1989 and it shall be obligatory on the part of the permit holder to use the vehicle for carrying school children.
Regional Transport Authority, Burdwan shall issue permits for auto-rickshaws within the municipal areas of Asansol Sub-Division in terms of West Bengal Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
Regional Transport Authority, Siliguri shall issue Contract Carriage permits to Metered Taxis i.e. Motor Cab (of Air-conditioned and/or Non-air-conditioned type) to operate within the jurisdiction of Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority and the area of Siliguri Sub-division.
Governor has been pleased to implement a policy for the issuance of “All Bengal Contract Carriage Permits” exclusively for the purpose of carrying tourists.
