Family Pension
Family Pension is 30% of the last pay. Maximum ceiling of family pension is Rs. 21,000/-. The amount of pension increases with the increase of the age of the family pensioner.
Governor is pleased to revise the minimum pension of the Principals of Govt. aided Colleges who retired prior to 01.01.2006 at Rs. 26,695/-
Extension of benefit of family pension in favour of unmarried/ divorced/ widowed daughter beyond the age of 25 years of a deceased employee (teaching and non-teaching) of Government aided Colleges has been under active consideration.
Governor is pleased to decide that to receive family pension, the age limit of the minor children (both son and daughter) be raised to 25 years.
The existing maximum limit at the enhanced rate of Rs. 12,747/- per month introduced with effect from 01.04.2008 be raised to Rs. 32,760/- only per month.
Revision of pension/ family pension of Pre-01.01.2016 Pensioners/ Family Pensioners in respect of Teaching Staff and equivalent category of employees of State aided Non-Government Colleges including erstwhile Sponsored Colleges.
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for family pension in respect of unmarried/ widowed/ divorced daughter of the deceased employee (teaching or non-teaching) of Colleges.
Raising of Income ceiling for ‘dependent’ for the purpose of family pension in respect of both teaching and non-teaching staff of State aided Non-Govt. Colleges along with the employees of Day Students’ Home.
Private Sector banks are hereby included in the list of authorised banks to disburse Government Pensions and Family Pensions in KMC area and also to disburse Government as well as Non-Government Pension drawn by Treasuries and PD Cell.
This scheme will be called the West Bengal State-aided Universities (Death-cum-Retirement Benefit) Scheme, 1999. It shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from 1st May, 1999.
Governor is pleased to accord the issuance of the Uniform Format of Certification to the pensioners/ family pensioners by the Head of Office/ Drawing and Disbursing Authority at the time of superannuation/ death in harness.
