Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar was a renowned Bengali philosopher, social reformer, and educator in the 19th century. He advocated for women’s rights, promoted education, and played a key role in the reform of Hindu society, especially with his efforts to legalize widow remarriage.

200th Birth Anniversary of Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar
Vidyasagar Week will be observed from 20.09.2019 to 26.09.2019 in all the Govt./ Govt Sponsored/ Aided Schools and Colleges in West Bengal. During this week, essay competition, cultural function, exhibition on photography on Vidyasagar and seminar will be organised.
