In pursuance to the Memo No. 169(5)-SSE/2019 dt. 12.04.2019 issued by the Principal Secretary, Department of School Education, Govt. of West Bengal (photocopy enclosed herewith) you are hereby instructed to observe the “Vidyasagar Week” from 20.09.2019 to 26.09.2019 in a befitting manner on the occasion of Celebration of 200th Birth anniversary of Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar. Essay Competition, Cultural function, Exhibition on photography on Vidyasagar and Seminar will be organised in Schools during this week.

I am glad to inform you that the Govt. of West Bengal has decided to observe the 200th Birth Anniversary of Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar throughout the year from 26.09.2019. Various programmes will be organised to commemorate this auspicious occasion. As a part of this programme “Vidyasagar Week” will be observed from 20.09.2019 to 26.09.2019 in all the Govt. Govt Sponsored/ Aided Schools and Colleges of our State. During this week, essay competition, cultural function, exhibition on photography on Vidyasagar and seminar will be organised. You may like to issue instructions to all the Private Schools of our State recognised by your board to observe the “Vidyasagar Week” in a befitting manner.
