Lift
A lift, also known as an elevator, is a mechanical platform or compartment used to transport people or goods between different floors of a building. It operates vertically, typically powered by electric motors or hydraulic systems.
Category-I: Otis, Schindler, Kone. Category-II: Thyssen Krupp, Bharat Elevator Co. Ltd., Engineers Vertical Services, Electromec, United Elevator, Escon, Johnson, Omega, LT Elevator.
An Act to provide for the regulation of the installation, maintenance and safe working of lifts, escalators and travelators and all machinery and apparatus pertaining thereto in the State of West Bengal and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
Governor has been pleased to accord approval towards acceptance of tender based on at least 2 qualified bidders for installation of lifts falling under Category-I only.
All concerned are directed to submit proposals for executing AMC and repairing of elevators and lifts by the concerned OEMs to the Public Works Department for necessary approval.
It has been noticed that specification of lift of different capacity is being prepared differently by different levels of engineers during estimation. It has been felt that such specification of lift should be uniform.
Fund demand of 80% of accepted amount will have to be placed with concerned Department/ Authority immediately on issuance of LOI and also for all legacy projects if not done earlier.
Lift shaft dimension with drawing have to be a part of the NIT at the time of purchasing of the tender, demand draft have to be accepted.
