Post Graduate Trainee refers to an individual who has completed their undergraduate education and is undergoing advanced training or education in a specific field, often in a professional or academic setting, as part of a career development program or internship.
Every postgraduate trainee has to execute an indemnity bond to serve this State Government for a period of three years after successful completion of Post Doctoral/ MD/ MS Course and for a period of two years after successful completion of PG Diploma course.

Doctors after completing their Postgraduate and Post-Doctoral Education in State Medical Teaching Institutions in West Bengal, will work in Multi-Specialty/ Super-Specialty Hospitals, Secondary & Tertiary level Hospitals in West Bengal for a period of one year to serve the rural people.
Due approval from the Highest Authority is mandatory for Medical Officer before pursuing Post Graduate Study/ Fellowship/ M Phill/ Certificate Course/ and related different courses.
Those who had signed indemnity bond with the teaching PG Medical Colleges/ PG Medical institutions in West Bengal, are hereby instructed to join the compulsory bond posting with effect from 18.07.2022 positively.
Principals/Deans/Directors are requested to conduct counseling and online admission of the eligible candidates through All India Quota PG Medical/ Dental seats in West Bengal, 2015.
