Notification regarding Facility of Telephone (Land Line and / or Mobile connection and Internet connection) at Office / Residence of Government Employee.
Governor is pleased to notify the ‘West Bengal State Broadband Policy 2020’ with the vision for sustained growth of telecom infrastructure across the State, combined with policy directives for various emerging technologies to foster development of a robust digital ecosystem.
Recently BSNL (CTD) and BSNL (WBTC) has taken a ‘Go-Green’ initiative for discontinuation of physical copy of landline bills of BSNL for the consumers and in turn the consumers will get a discount of Rs. 10/- per bill subject to maximum Rs. 100/- for each connection each year.
Government has decided to introduce online payment facility for Landline/ Broadband telephone bills raised by the BSNL (Calcutta Telecom District) only from the IFMS Portal.
Reimbursement will be allowed for up to maximum 3 connections in total from any combination out of a. landline for broadband services b. landline telephone and c. mobile connection.
Nodal Officer will be responsible for distribution of SIM, collection of bill for the active connections from the service provider and make necessary arrangement for payment of bills.
Maximum reimbursable amount of telephone charges for residential landline telephone as well as for personal mobile phone in respect of the officers of the rank of Principal Secretary.

A Department may be allowed a maximum of two Broadband connections – one for Secretary and the other for common use. High cost Business Plans should be avoided.
Chief Secretary/ Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of West Bengal – No Limit. Principal Secretary/ Secretary to the Government of West Bengal – Rs. 1,500 p.m. Officers in the rank of Special Secretary or equivalent, Chief Engineers – Rs. 1,200 p.m.
