Sub: Syllabus & subject-wise marks allotment both for theoretical and project of Fazil Examination, 2018 and onwards
Sir,
In reference to the above noted subject, I am directed to inform you that the Fazil Examination-2018 and onwards will be held according to the following curricula, syllabi and marking-scheme:
The Guidelines for Fazil Examination-2017 will be as follows:
A candidate to be declared pass, must secure pass marks in six subjects in which Bengali (1st language)/Urdu (1st language), English (2nd language) and Arabic must be included.
A candidate to be declared pass in a subject provided pass marks in each part i.e. Theory and Project/Practical is obtained separately. The pass marks for theory is 30%. The pass marks for practical/ project is also 30%. If a candidate secures pass marks in theory but unable to secures pass marks in practical/ project or if a candidate secures pass marks in practical/ project but unable to secures pass marks in theory, he /she should sit for practical/ project or theory in the next year Fazil Examination respectively. The marks obtained in the theory or practical/project shall carry forward and obviously the total marks obtained by the candidate in the subject will be sum total of the marks secured in the next year Fazil Examination and the marks carry forwarded from the 1st appearance in Fazil Examination.
If any candidate fails in one or two subjects out of six subjects, he/she will be allowed to sit for Fazil Examination in the next year as compartmental candidate, particularly in that/those subject(s) only. If any candidate fails in more than two subjects, he/she shall be declared failed and would be allowed to sit for next Fazil Examination in all subjects as Continuing Candidate. From the Fazil Examination 2017, calculation of Grand Total will be done taking into account highest marks obtained in six subjects including Bengali (1st language)/Urdu (1st language), English (2nd language), Arabic, Theology, Islamic Studies, Islamic History and optional subject (if any), where a minimum pass mark in Bengali (1st language)/Urdu (1st language), English (2nd language) and Arabic should be secured compulsorily. Overall grade is to be calculated by dividing the Total by six.
