Here is the Academic Calendar and Holiday List for 2016 published by WBBSE.

According to the West Bengal School Holiday List , We, Teaching-Non-Teaching staff & Students, have been doing 53 min extra on daily basis since last 4 years
1 year = 365 days. Sunday + other Holidays = (52+65) days =117 days.
Total Working days= (365-117) days = 248 days.
For Exam =12 days.
So, the Teaching-Learning days =248-12=236.
Now, 236 days= 39.33 Weeks.(236/6
=39.33) (because Sundays are already deducted).
But in the List it is mentioned as 33.71 Weeks. (236/7=33.71)!!!
Per Week Class Scheduled = 31 hr.
Per Year Class= (31*33.71)hr=1045hr.
Actually Per Week Class =(1045/39.33)hr.=26 hr 35 min.
So, (31hr-26hr35min)= 4 hr 25 min extra working hour per week.

This year is also seen the same thing. There is no efforts of rectification. It is heared that this programme has been brought to the notice of the authority. But they deny to accept this calculation.

Revised holiday list for w.b. school-2017. The first one was wrong, 2nd October falls in puja vacation, but it was counted as a holiday. Now the list has corrected by the following circular. Here it is…….
