DESIGNATION COL LIKE AS NAME, designation, head master, my question beside the head master show a symbol like as down arrow so pls informed me how to make a drop down list in exls 2007 on another topic/name.February 22, 2013 at 3:51 pm #77009AnonymousGuest
In Excel 2010 (May be same in excel 2007) first select a cell where you want to drop down list.
Choice data ribbon—>Data Validation—>Data Validation–>settings tab—>allow—>list…
just select some cells (column wise) and ok.
you can put the criteria like HM, AT, Peon etc. in this selected cells you will find those in the drop down list.February 22, 2013 at 4:06 pm #77010AnonymousGuest

For Excel 2007
Select at top bar menu:
Data-> Data Validation-> Data Validation-> Settings->
In validation criteria:
Source: HM, AHM, AT (Just write the name separate by a comma)February 23, 2013 at 8:48 am #77018AnonymousGuest
Dear Mr.Nemo, Mr.Chanchal Torkona,
Thanks for your post . You have informed others data validation formula for drop down list. I think this will help them to modify School Management Utility. Besides I will up load the modified file after a few days. Till then please wait.

Dear Mr. Chanchal babu,
The problem you faced is not in the Staff info.The School info contains a number of Drop down Lists.Please look at the bottom of that page. You will find some columns with specific headings. Choose the column(s) and modify the rows where some letters are written. You may modify those and add some new designations.You may create drop down list according to your will. First create a Column entitled as Designation any where in the sheet of your choice. Then Write the designations such as Headmaster
After that select any cell of your choice on that sheet where you like the drop down list. Write ‘Cookie’ in that cell , then go to Data Tool , then go to Data validation, go to settings, then choose List,Click Source, you will find data validation. Then select the entire List which you have previously created( other than heading)-After noting select symbol go to the source again, ClIck OK, THE DROP DOWN LIST will be noticed in’ the cookie’ cell. This is easy.
