Maximum Number of Holidays in Secondary Schools

The number of Holidays and Vacation days in an academic year in Secondary Schools should not exceed 65 days instead of 80 days excluding Sundays, decided in EC meeting. https://wbxpress.com/maximum-number-of-holidays-in-secondary-schools/

The list of holidays should be treated as a model with scope of modifications to accommodate the local needs. But the 8th period in the school time table is taxing too much on the body and minds of the students. It should be deleted.

Yes, I fully support Abdur Rahaman. Not only the 8th period but also the extra 30 min in the school hour is a serious burden for the student for taking part in extra curricular activities outside the school like play,computer training, painting,participating in various cultural activities etc. which can not be arranged within school’s infrustructure. School hour should be 11am to 4pm.

In S.T.P.High(H.S) school, Purulia, all classes suspended after 5th period, Pass graduate teachers are doing H.S classes whereas Hons/P.G scale drawing tachers are not allowed to teach H.S classes due to teacher-in- charge s monopoly.who is a BPed teacher.
