I was selected by IIT Delhi as Assistant Professor on return from abroad. Subsequently after 2 months, I was also selected by ONGC (a PSU) with 5 advance increments. I decided to leave IIT Delhi and joined ONGC. My initial pay in ONGC was at minimum of the scale plus 5 increments as per my offer letter. Later I learnt that I am also entitled for pay protection because of higher pay at IIT Delhi and I requested for that. ONGC did the pay protection and taken away 5 advance increments which was given by the selection board. In this manner I lost the advantage of 5 advance increments. Had these 5 increments were not given to me at the time salary negotiation, my pay otherwise would have been still protected with respect to IIT Delhi.
I want to know that besides pay protection, am I still entitle for 5 advance increments which were given at the time of my selection in ONGC on account of my large experience and higher qualification.
