Friends, a primary teacher has to undergo one year D.Ed (as he has one year PTT training) bridge course through ODL mode. Now he wishes to get admission in IGNOU for two year B.Ed course. Will it be possible to do the two courses at the same time? Does he need to take any permission except from the HT? Please provide the G.O./circular/notice if available?
Please answer as soon as possible, it is urgent.June 26, 2012 at 6:44 pm #72949AnonymousInactiveSorry friends, I’ve not got any concrete answer on this topic. May you help me please? I’ve got a PM from Som da that give me the link B.Ed from IGNOU. but I could not find any direction from them for permanent primary teachers (though there is an order for the para teachers of primary school)…
June 27, 2012 at 3:26 am #72952AnonymousInactiveI think, it is possible to do the two courses at the same time. But I am not sure. Please verify going through the following G.O.s carefully.
The G.O. No. 277-SE(P)/10M-6/09 (Pt-I), dated 28.03.2012 regarding Enhancement of Primary Teachers Qualification is further modified vide Corrigendum No. 84(83)-SE (EE)/10M-6/09 Pt I, dated 15.06.2012,For the present all Primary Teachers who do not possess the required minimum qualification or the required training Diploma need to immediately register themselves with the District Primary School Council (DPSC) for either or both of the above qualifications through a written application in the form annexed with that Notification.

May I pursue the two courses at the same time? is the order provided by nemo in the previous post is a general order or a special one for h.s only? please guide me.

November 20, 2012 at 6:54 pm #75477AnonymousInactiveDear b_roy the concerned meeting of high level officers was held on 19.11.2012. i will try to update you in a couple of days. For some personal reasons i could not follow up the matter. Sorry for that.
November 20, 2012 at 7:45 pm #75479AnonymousInactiveDear b_roy,
From the WBBPE Circular dated 14.11.2012 it is clear that B.Ed. is not essential for primary teachers. Rather, D.L.Ed and/ or bridge course is compulsory for those who were appointed on or after 03.09.2001. However, para 4 of the circular clarifies that if the teacher, who was appointed on or after 03.09.2001 and already got B.Ed. degree is required to undergo a 6 month long special training:
Therfore, it appears that those primary teachers who have not already managed to get B.Ed. degree will not be allowed for that course. They will be now governed by the provisions under para 2 and para 3, as the case may be. For them there is no scope for taking B.Ed. course if it is not already done. So, I think, you cannot get permission for B,Ed. In addition to other prescribed courses you may pursue B.Ed course simultaneously in personal interest without approval of M.C./D.I.
Pls see my post dated 20 Nov.2012 under the following thread:
Prospect of Pass Graduate Teachers
