It is known to all that WBCHSE has introduced a handful of new subjects in HS from 2013-14 session onward. JOURNALISM & MASS COMMUNICATION is one of these. My school intends to take and start the subject in Humanities. But the rule dictates- the school intending to start a certain subject in HS must have an approved teacher qualified in the relevant subject and only then the council will permit to teach the subject in the school. I, an approved PGT teacher of English, am a PG holder in J&MC additionally. If my school is offered the subject, it’s clear only I will have to teach the subject. In that case, what sorts of technical advantages and disadvantages shall I have relating to my service or otherwise? Will it be wise for my school to take the subject? Does an approved J&MC teacher appointed in future need to do B.ed? Please help me out with such tricky questions.
