    5: Yes, I personally know that it is still continuing at Central Bank of India near Kolkata Raj Bhavan at 4 & 4/1 Red Cross Place. Just visit the branch with required documents and get it done within an hour.

    you were in no. 6 scale, which was revised as PB-2 with Grade Pay 2600/-. Now after CAS, it would be PB-2 with Grade Pay 2900/-, a Group C employee. So, in your case subscription should be Rs. 20/-

    Now, having Grade Pay below 5400/- and above 4400/- are also classified as Group A officers. But they may not be termed as 'Gazetted Officer'.

    5&6: Before 1978, joining, transfer etc. of Govt. Officers used to publish in Calcutta Gazette. Those officers had the power of attestation and power to grant certificates. Publication of names abolished thereafter due to increasing numbers of officers and grouping of services introduced. But still the term 'Gazetted Officer' is used for officers having Grade Pay equal or above 5400/- which was entry level Grade Pay of Gr. A Officer.
