The following Act of the West Bengal Legislature, having been assented to by the Governor, is hereby published for general information:-
West Bengal Act XXIII of 2017
THE WEST BENGAL STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION (REPEALING) ACT, 2017.
An Act to repeal the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission Act, 2011.
Whereas it is expedient to repeal the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission Act, 2011;
It is hereby enacted in the Sixty-eighth Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows:-
1. Short title and commencement.
(1) This Act may be called the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (Repealing) Act, 2017.
(2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
2. Repeal of West Ben. Act XVII of 2011
The West Bengal Staff Selection Commission Act, 2011, is hereby repealed.
3. Savings
Notwithstanding such repeal as mentioned in section 2, all the process of selection or appointment undertaken or initiated by the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission constituted under the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission Act, 2011, shall be deemed to have been undertaken or initiated by the Public Service Commission, West Bengal and remaining process shall be executed by the Public Service Commission, West Bengal.
