PUBLIC NOTICE

It here by notified for general information that the 6th State Level Selection Test-TET, 2013 (6th SLST) is scheduled to be held on 9th March 2014 (Tentative) for preparing panel of Assistant Teachers and Under Graduate Teachers in Recognized Govt. aided Jr. High/High/Higher Secondary/Senior Madrasahs in West Bengal against the vacancies available and reported. The vacancies indicated are tentative i.e. which presently exist and those likely to occur within January 01, 2014 and be reported and the final reported vacancies in the posts of Assistant Teachers (including undergraduate teachers) for which the 6th SLST is being conducted shall be published during the publication of the result of the written examination.

Eligibility: Citizens of India may apply for a single subject in Undergraduate or in Pass or in Hons. /PG Category in Madrasah in prescribed form available from the designated branches of United Bank of India as mentioned below:

A. Posts in Hons./PG Category

Essential Qualification: i) Bachelor’s Degree with Honors or Master’s Degree in the concerned subject from any UGC recognized University. For Biological Science a candidate must have Bachelor’s Degree with Hons./Post Graduate Degree in any of the subjects viz. Zoology, Botany & Physiology.

Desirable: i) B.Ed./B.T./P.G.B.T. from any recognized University or any Training recognized by the State Government as equivalent to B.Ed./B.T./P.G.B.T. from a Teachers’ Training Institution duly recognized by NCTE in the relevant academic session. ii) Knowledge in Islamic Studies and Culture.

A.1. Essential Qualification of Assistant Teachers in Theology/Advanced Arabic (Islam Parichay):

i) Kamil (Honors),B.A (Honors in Arabic) from Aliah University or MM/MF with Kamil or MM/MF with Kamil(General) from West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education/ Aliah University. ii) Knowledge in Islamic Studies and Culture.

A.2. Essential Qualification of Assistant Teacher in Computer Science(H-PG) category:

The candidate should possess any of the following Degree/Diploma.

(i) B.Sc. (Hons.) in Computer Science or M.Sc. in Computer Science or
(ii) BCA (Hons.) or MCA. or (iii) B.E./B:Tech. in Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronics and Computer Engineering or ME/M.Tech. in Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronics and Computer Engineering or (iv) B.Sc. in Information Technology (Major) or M.Sc./M.Tech. in Information Technology/MCA or (v) B.Sc. in Software System (Major) or M.Sc./M.Tech. in Software System/MCA. obtained as a ‘Regular Candidate’ from any College/ University recognized by University Grants Commission and (vi)B.Ed. or other equivalent Degree from a recognized University.

A.3. Essential Qualification of Assistant Teacher in Computer Application(H-PG) category:

The candidate should possess any of the following Degree/Diploma.

(i) B.C.A. Hons M.C.A. or (ii) B.Sc. with Hons. in Computer Science or M.Sc. in Computer Science or (iii) B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronics and Computer Engineering or M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronics & Computer Engineering or (iv) B.Sc. with Computer Application as the Major subject or M.Sc./M.Tech. in Computer Application/M.C.A.or (v) B.Sc. in Software System (Major) or M.Sc./M.Tech. in Information Technology/ M.C.A. or (vi) B.Sc. in Software System (Major) or M.Sc./M.Tech. in Software System/M.C.A. obtained as a “Regular Candidate” from any College/University recognized by university Grants Commission.

B. Posts in Pass Category

Essential Qualification: i) Minimum marks required for appearing for TET Examination is 50% at Graduation or Master Degree level .Minimum educational qualification is required for appearing TET Examination is a Graduation Degree from any UGC recognized University along with minimum marks as stated above for Graduate Teacher in pass vacancy of class V to VIII.

Note: Candidates who score average 50% marks in the all subject studied (total marks/ papers) in the graduation or master degree level and minimum educational qualification is required for appearing TET examination.

Desirable: i) B.Ed./B.T./P.G.B.T. from any recognized University or any Training recognized by the State Government as equivalent to B.Ed./B.T./P.G.B.T. from a Teachers’ Training Institution duly recognized by NCTE in the relevant academic session. ii) Knowledge in Islamic Studies and Culture.

B.1. Assistant Teachers in Work Education:

Essential Qualification: (i) Bachelor’s Degree in General Stream in Arts/Science/Commerce from a UGC Recognized University with Post Graduate Basic Training from any Teachers’ Training Institution duly recognized by NCTE or Bachelor’s Degree in General stream in Arts /Science /Commerce with Work Education as a Subject in Bachelor of Education in regular Course from a Teachers’ Training Institution duly recognized by the NCTE in the relevant academic session or (ii)Bachelor’s Degree in General Stream in Arts/Science/Commerce with Degree or Diploma in Arts and Craft from any UGC recognized University/ any UGC recognized educational Institution affiliated to any University or (iii) Bachelor’s Degree in Home Science or Agriculture or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Information Technology or Software system from any UGC recognized University or (iv) Bachelor’s Degree in General Stream in Arts/Science/Commerce with Computer Science or Computer Application as a subject of at least 300 marks at the degree level from any UGC recognized University.(v) Bachelor’s Degree in General Stream in Arts/Science/Commerce with Degree or Diploma in Tailoring and needle work (at least 2 year course) from any institution duly recognized by any UGC recognized University/from any UGC recognized University.

Desirable: i) B.T/B.Ed. /P.G.B.T from any recognized University or any Training recognized by the State Govt. as Equivalent to B.T/B.Ed. /P.G.B.T from Teachers’ Training Institution duly recognized by the NCTE in the relevant academic session. ii) Knowledge in Islamic Studies and Culture.

B. 2. Assistant Teachers in Physical Education :

Essential Qualification: i) Bachelor’s Degree in General Stream of Arts /Science/ Commerce with Post Graduate Basic Training/ Degree/Diploma in Physical Education from a Teachers’ Training Institution duly recognized by the NCTE in the relevant academic session. ii)Knowledge in Islamic Studies and Culture.

C. Posts in Undergraduate Category

C.1. Posts meant for Arabic:

Essential Qualification : i) Fazil held from 1993 onwards of West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education or M.M. prior to 1998*.(ii) Knowledge in Islamic Studies and Culture. ii) 50% marks or above in Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.

Desirable: (i) Junior Basic Training or any training recognized by the State Govt. as equivalent to Junior Basic Training from a Teachers’ Training Institution duly recognized by the NCTE in the relevant academic session.

C. 2. Posts meant for General Subject:

i) Essential Qualification: Higher Secondary from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent. ii) 50% marks or above in Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.

Desirable: (i) Junior Basic Training or any Training recognized by the State Govt. as equivalent to Junior Basic Training from a Teachers’ Training Institution duly recognized by the NCTE in the relevant academic session. (ii) Knowledge in Islamic Studies and Culture.

Note: Co-Curricular activities: The candidates applying for Undergraduate Category must attach the self attested photocopies of the certificates mentioned below in support of Co-Curricular activities with the filled in Application Form:

(i) Certificate representing the district in State level games, sports, issued by district level sports authority. (ii) Certificate showing excellence in cultural activities representing the district in State level competitions issued by district level authority. (iii) Minimum ‘A’ certificate of National Cadet Corps. (iv) Certificate of successful participation in literating the illiterates by a district level officer, and (v) Diploma/ Certificate in Music/Arts and Craft on completion of a course of at least one year’s duration from any University/ recognized Government institutions.

Information here under strictly for A.B. and C category

1. Age: Minimum: 20 years as on 01.01.2013 (i.e. not born after 01.01.1993)
Maximum: 40 years as on 01.01.2013 (i.e. not born before 01.01.1973)

Relaxation: Relaxable upto 55 years of age for approved teaching and non-teaching staff in recognized non-Govt. aided Madrasahs/ Schools and Sr. Madrasahs approved by the West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education/West Bengal Board of Secondary Education /West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.

2. Medium of instruction: Candidates applying for Madrasah with particular language as medium must have that language of the medium as first or second or third language at any of the Secondary level or Higher Secondary level or must have succeeded at any subsequent higher level of education in that subject.

3. Tentative Examination Date (TET): 9th March.2014

Note: Subjective Examination date will be announceed later on.

4. Visually handicapped candidates shall be allowed 15 minutes extra time (10 minutes extra time for undergraduate category) and separate sitting arrangement shall be made for them.

NOTE: (i) Visually Handicapped (VH) candidates may apply in prescribed form and the said form should collect from the commission’s office.

5. Medium of Answers: Questions will be set in English & Bengali.

6. Fees for examination: Application Form & Brochure: Rs. 300/- for General candidates, for Physically Handicapped Rs. 100/- and Rs.1000/- for general in-service teachers who avail the relaxation of age and experience.

6. Syllabus & Qualifying Marks of TET: Syllabus and qualifying marks as per NCTE guidelines.

7. a. Date of collection of Application Form: 08.02.2014 to 15.02.2014 during Banking hours.

b. Date of Submission of filled in Application Form: 08.02.2014 to 15.02.2014 during Banking hours. Purchase and submission of application form must be in the same designated Bank.

8. Personality Test :Letter of personality test will be issued to the selected candidates on the basis of academic score and marks obtained in TET (for PASS/H-PG category who applying class V to Class VIII standard) for Undergraduate category academic score and marks obtained in TET including score in Training & Co-curricular activities) to the extent of not exceeding 1.5 times of the advertised final reported vacancies Mediumwise, Subjectwise & Genderwise . All candidates will be considered against General (unreserved) vacancies in terms of existing Govt. order (s) in Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal.

9. THE SCHEDULE OF TEST: The Test shall be held in one day of 11/2 hours (One and half hours) duration comprising of one part (TET) all over West Bengal. Question Booklets for TET will be handed over to the candidates. The completed Question Booklets with Answer sheet(OMR) for TET will be collected by the invigilators exactly after 11/2 hours (One and half hours).

10. QUESTION: All questions in “TET” will be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking. The Test items for Language I will focus on the proficiencies in the elements of language, grammar and comprehension abilities related to the medium of instruction, (as chosen from list of prescribed Language options in the application form). The Language II will be from among the prescribed options other than Language I. The test items in Language II will also focus on the elements of language, grammar and comprehension abilities. Candidates must choose either Language BENGALI & ENGLISH OR Language URDU & ENGLISH (ITEM NO.16.2 IN THE APPLICATION FORM)
