Sub: Initiative for of Issuance of Caste Certificate through camp approach in schools, colleges and educational institutions required for scholarship.
You may be aware that, the BCW Department has introduced an online application system for Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship for SC/ST students. As per the guidelines of the Government of India, Caste Certificate is mandatory for release of these Centrally Sponsored Scholarships. The last date of submission of application for scholarships is fixed at 15th November, 2013, by the Government of India. The Department is receiving report from different Districts that many of the applicants does not possess Caste Certificate.
The district authorities have been requested to adopt camp approach in all the schools, colleges and educational institutions for issuance of caste certificates so that no student is deprived of scholarship for want of caste certificate. In this regard a letter has already circulated (Copy enclosed).
You are requested to instruct the District Inspector of Schools and other concerned authorities to provide necessary assistance during this exercise.
