The functions of the Finance Department are performed through 5 (five) branches, namely, Audit, Budget, Revenue, Internal Audit and Institutional Finance.

  • Stagnation Increment during fixation of Pay under ROPA, 2019

    A government employee, after fixation of pay in the revised pay structure under the ROPA, 2019, reaching the last Cell (maximum Pay) of the applicable Level of the Pay Matrix shall be allowed annual increment for stagnation.

  • Discontinuation of Physical Copy of BSNL Telephone Bill

    Recently BSNL (CTD) and BSNL (WBTC) has taken a ‘Go-Green’ initiative for discontinuation of physical copy of landline bills of BSNL for the consumers and in turn the consumers will get a discount of Rs. 10/- per bill subject to maximum Rs. 100/- for each connection each year.

  • Entitlement for Accommodation after ROPA, 2019 under WBHS

    With the inclusion of Pay Clinic of Government Hospitals and Tata Medical Centre, Rajarhat under WBHS and due to implementation of ROPA 2019, and as such it has been felt necessary to redefine the type of accommodation which the employees and pensioner may avail at the time of indoor treatment.

  • Rate of Interest on GPF (01.01.2020 to 31.03.2020)

    During the period from 01.01.2020 to 31.03.2020, accumulation at the credit of the subscribers to General Provident Fund and other similar funds under the administrative control of the Government of West Bengal shall carry interest at the rate of 7.9%.

  • Introduction of “e-Pension Mobile App” for Pensioners

    Governor is pleased to introduce the e-Pension Mobile App as a mobile platform for various Departments, Directorates, Districts, Sub-Divisions and Block Level Offices and also for employees and pensioners of recognized Non-Govt. State aided Institutions/ Organisations.

  • Capturing GPF Balances of State Government Employees

    Governor is pleased to extend the last date of capturing GPF Balances of the State Government Employees including approval by Head of Office whose Accounts are maintained by the Office of Accountant General (A&E), West Bengal upto 5th March, 2020.

  • Transfer of GPF Balance of Group-D Employees promoted to Group-C

    What actions are to be taken by Head of Office for transfer of GPF balance to the Office of the Accountant General, West Bengal (AGWB) of those Group-D employees who are/will be promoted/ appointed to Group C category or any category higher than Group C on or after 01.04.2018?

  • Rate of Interest on GPF (01.10.2019 to 31.12.2019)

    During the period from 01.10.2019 to 31.12.2019, accumulation at the credit of the subscribers to General Provident Fund and other similar funds under the administrative control of the Government of West Bengal shall carry interest at the rate of 7.9% (seven point nine percent) per annum.

  • Public Holiday in connection with Saraswati Puja, 2020

    State Government has decided to declare holiday on 29th January, 2020 (Wednesday) in connection with Saraswati Puja in addition to already declared 30th and 31st January, 2020, for all State Government offices.

  • Introduction of IFMS Module for GPF Account Statement

    Introduction of a facility in IFMS to access a statement showing up-to-date GPF balance for State Government Employees whose GPF Accounts are maintained by the Office of the Accountant General, West Bengal.
