Governor is pleased to appoint a Commission of Inquiry consisting of Honble Justice Mr. Shyamal Kumar Sen for Sharadha Group of Companies to inquire into the methodology and means adopted by the said Group of Companies and such other companies involved in similar activities in the State of West Bengal.
- Nodal Officer for Deputation of West Bengal Police
Special Inspector General and Deputy Inspector General of Police (Headquarters), West Bengal will now work as the Nodal Officer in respect of all cases of Central Deputation/ Foreign Deputation/ Deputation to any State Government other than Government of West Bengal.

- Protection of Children from Sexual Offences
To provide for the protection of children from the offences of sexual assault, sexual harassment and pornography, while safeguarding the interests of the child at every stage of the judicial process by incorporating child-friendly mechanisms for reporting, recording of evidence, investigation and speedy trial of offences through designated Special Courts.
- Village Police Volunteer under West Bengal Police
Governor has been pleased to accord approval for creation and filling up of 3351 posts of Village Police Volunteer under West Bengal Police for deployment in Gram Panchayet areas at a daily wage of Rs. 310/- for 22 days in a month.
- Protection of Woman against Sexual Harassment
To depute plain clothed female police officers in the precincts of bus-stands and stops, railway stations, metro stations, cinema theatres, shopping malls, parks, beaches, public service vehicles, places of worship etc. so as to monitor and supervise incidents of eve-teasing;
- Proper Use of the National Emblem
To ensure proper use of the National Emblem by all concerned, in keeping with the provisions contained in State Emblem of India (Provisions of Improper Use) Act, 2005.
- Strike related Government Order from Home Department
Attempts at forcible closure of government offices, shops, markets, educational institutions, industrial establishments, etc should be firmly dealt with. All state government offices will remain open on those days and all government employees should report for duty.

Governor is pleased to specially declare the office at 9th floor, “A” wing, New Secretarial Building, No. 1, Kiran Sankar Roy Road, Kolkata – 700001 to be a police station named as Anti Corruption Branch Police Station.
- Issue of Laminated Identity Cards to the State Govt. Employees
Separate proforma to be submitted for requisition of Red & Yellow Identity Cards. All proforma should be submitted in duplicate. Name of the Deptt. should be written on the top of every page.
- Prohibition on Assembly of Five or More Person
The Commissioner of Police, Kolkata has prohibited for a period of 60 days from 14th March, 2014 to 12th May, 2014 until further order, any assembly of five or more persons or procession.
