Requirement of Residential and Domicile Certificate
To be eligible for a domicile certificate in West Bengal as of 2025, an applicant must meet one of the following conditions:

The District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate (Gen.), Sub-Divisional Officer are designated by the Home & Hill Affairs Department to issue Permanent Residence Certificate in the State.
The Commission shall thereafter prepare a complete list of all officers liable to appear at the examination and forward copies thereof to the Heads of Departments and Directorates concerned.
