The District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate (Gen.), Sub-Divisional Officer are designated by the Home & Hill Affairs Department to issue Permanent Residence Certificate in the State.

Commission on Institutional Corruption in West Bengal
It is necessary to appoint an independent Judicial Enquiry Commission to look into and examine instances of institutional corruption and financial irregularities across all Departments of West Bengal during the the period, 2011 to May, 2026.
