NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the power conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 4 of the Departmental Proceedings (Enforcement of Attendance of Witnesses and Production of Documents) Act, 1973 (West Bengal Act XXIV of 1973), the Governor is pleased hereby to decide that the power conferred on the State Government by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the said Act may be exercised by the Commissioner of Police, Kolkata and the Director General & Inspector General of Police, West Bengal in respect of the officials of Kolkata Police and the officials of West Bengal Police respectively, against whom departmental proceedings are being held and in respect of whom they or their subordinate officers are the appointing authority.
