Subject: Free medicines to all pregnant women being discharged from delivery point.
It is learnt from the feedback given by the State RMNCH+A monitoring team that medicines are being prescribed to pregnant women during the time of discharge from the delivery point which they have to purchase themselves. This is in contrary to the policy of cashless delivery under Janani Sishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK).
In this context, it is reiterated that all required medicines (JSSK drugs & other hospital supply if required) shall be provided to all pregnant women at the time of discharge from the health facility itself, as deemed necessary, so that they do not have to incur any out of pocket expenditure.
