Tiffin Allowance at the rate of Rs. 15/- per day may be granted to orderlies and peons attached to the officers in the rank of Joint Secretary and above in the Secretariat Departments who are required by their officers to stay in office beyond 6.30 p.m.

Tiffin Allowance to Secretariat Group D Employee shall be admissible @ Rs. 30 per day with effect from 01.01.2020 after ROPA, 2019.

MEMORANDUM

Sub: Grant of Tiffin Allowance for overtime work, to the orderlies and office peons in the Secretariat Departments.

Consequent upon the decision taken by the Government on the recommendations of the Fifth Pay Commission relating to Tiffin allowance for overtime work of orderlies and office Peons in the Secretariat, the Governor has been pleased to order in supersession of Finance Department Memo. No. 10028-F dated 11.11.1999 that the orderlies attached to the officers in the rank of Joint Secretary and above in the Secretariat Departments who are required by their officers to stay in office beyond 6.30 p.m. shall get Tiffin Allowance at the rate of Rs. 15/- per day for actual days of such stay against a certificate to that effect to be given by the Officer himself or such other Group ‘A’ officer of the Department concerned who may be authorised in this behalf by the Secretary of the Department.

2. The Governor has further been pleased to decide that the same allowance shall also be extended to other peons/orderlies in the Secretariat who are required to work beyond 6:30 p.m. subject to the prior approval of the concerned Joint Secretary.

3. The Tiffin Allowance Bills will have to be drawn monthly and will be met from the office contingencies of Secretariat Department.

4. This order will take effect from the 1st December, 2009.
