Sub: Installation of Roof Top Solar panel at all Government offices.
The Govt. of West Bengal is committed to act positively towards the journey of the nation for use of more and more renewable energy. As a part of energy transition initiative, it has been decided to install Roof Top Solar (RTS) panels at all government offices across the state. This will not only help to promote clean energy usage but also reduce the amount of electricity bill of the respective offices.
Tentatively it has been observed that around 300 Sq. ft. of area is required for 5 KWP RTS panel and considering practical scenarios it has been contemplated to install solar plant capacity to the tune of 5 KWP to 15 KWP by way of using the roof and open sparable space within the office complex subject to technical feasibility.
It is, therefore, enjoined upon all concerned to extend all sorts of co-operation during the site visit by officials of the concerned department/utility to ascertain feasibility for installation of RTS.
