Installation of Roof Top Solar panel at all Government Offices
As a part of energy transition initiative, it has been decided to install Roof Top Solar (RTS) panels at all government offices across the state.
Energy Conservation refers to the practice of reducing energy consumption through efficient use, minimizing waste, and adopting sustainable practices. It involves measures such as using energy-efficient appliances, improving building insulation, and adopting renewable energy sources to reduce environmental impact and lower costs.

The main objective of energy saving is to ensure sufficient power for us, our next generation as well as to ensure demand side management, leading to economization of resources.
West Bengal Energy Conservation Building Code 2020 is applicable to buildings that will have a connected load of 100 kW and are intended to be used for commercial purposes.
The State government in the Home and Hill Affairs Department vide it’s notification No. 858-Home dated 15th November 2019 created Non-Conventional and Renewable Energy Sources Department.
