CIRCULAR
Sub: Preventive measure towards Vector Borne Diseases
Vector Borne Diseases get aggravated in rainy season between June to October, getting favourable breeding environment in stagnant water.
As a preventive measure following actions are to be taken up by PWD officers in respect of Land, Building and Other Assets maintained by PWD.
i) All open pits where water might accumulate and remain stagnant are to be closed down immediately.
ii) Un-used Tools & Plants, Machinery parts (if any), Bitumen-Vat, Stacked materials at different Stack-yard are to be monitored regularly to avoid water accumulation or to be covered up.
iii) Dismantled Building materials, Electrical machines/ Goods are to be disposed from the construction site as early as possible.
iv) Drainage Spouts on Bridge Deck and Building Roof -top are to be cleaned on regular basis.
v) Drainage system of the campus to be maintained properly to avoid stagnation of water.
vi) Air Condition machine and Cooling Tower of Chiller Plant should be cleaned regularly and to be kept operative at least once in a week.
vii) Shrub/ Un-wanted Vegetation growth are to be removed.
viii) Larvicidal may be sprayed once in a week on specific written instruction of higher authority.
Moreover, in line with earlier Circular No. 563-W(C)/1M-253/19 dated 05.08.2019 and 563-W(C)/1M-253/19 dated 06.08.2019 of Public Works Department, it has been decided that Public Works Department will continue to undertake one time thorough cleaning of the hospital premises being maintained by Public Works Department on top priority in consultation with the concerned authorities from the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Report of compliance is to be sent to the undersigned.
