Sub: Display of Toll Free Help Line No. 1098 for quick response for children in districts.
Sir,
As you are aware West Bengal State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has been established by Government of West Bengal complying with the provisions of Section 36 of the Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act 2005, to protect all aspects of rights of the children in the state. In order to bring any incident of violation of child right for appropriate remedial action Government of India established the Toll Free Help Line No. 1098 as a National Help Line to enable children to seek assistance in case of emergency or in distress. This help line is maintained by Child Line India Foundation as a fast emergency out reach service for children in distress. This programme has been adopted by the Ministry of Women and Child Development under Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS).
I am directed by West Bengal State Commission for Protection of Child Rights to bring the above facility to your notice and request you to kindly give publicity to this Help line no. 1098 in the buildings of all the establishments under control of your Department.
