Sub: Release of fund for providing Bicycles to girl students of LWE-affected Blocks of Bankura, Purulia and Paschim Medinipur.
For sometimes past, Government of West Bengal has been considering a proposal to provide bicycles to girl students of 23 LWE-affected Blocks of 3 Jungle-Mahal districts viz. Bankura, Purulia and Paschim Medinipur. Under the project School Education Department has decided to provide 34269 bicycles to SC, ST, OBC and General Girl students of the said districts during this financial year (2013-14).
2. Now, the Governor is pleased to sanction and release a total amount of Rs. 9,93,11,562 (Rupees nine crore ninety three lakh eleven thousand five hundred and sixty two) only during the year 2013-14 as the cost of 34269 bicycles @ Rs. 2898 per bicycle in the following manner:
i) out of total amount of Rs. 9,93,11,562 the amount Rs. 3,79,00,000 will be made available under the Head 2202-02-789-SP-013-[ES]-31-02-V, and
ii) the balance amount i.e. Rs. 6,14,11,562 will be made available under the same Head of Account [2202-02-789-SP-013-[ES]-31-02-V] by way of re-appropriation from the savings under the Head of Account “2202-01-01-111-SP-001-31-02-V” under demand No. 15 of the current financial year (2013-14).
3. The amount of Rs. 9,93,11,562 (Rupees nine crore ninety three lakh eleven thousand five hundred and sixty two) only, released for the aforesaid purpose, is hereby placed under the disposal of the Secretary, Backward Class Welfare Department with the authority to sub-allot the same to the concerned officers.
4. It should be ensured that no beneficiary of the previous years will get any bicycle from this year’s allotment.
5. Necessary Utilisation Certificate in proper format is to be submitted to this Department at the earliest.
6. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department, Gr. ‘B’ U.O. No. 308/ES/P/P&B/10M/74/2011/2014 dated 02/01/2014 read with Gr. ‘N’ U.O. No. 1901 dated 17/12/2013 (Copy of F.D.’s concurrence attached).
