Re-imbursement of Medical Costs under Maavoi

MEMORANDUM

In connection with enrolment with “Maavoi – West Bengal Health Scheme for the Journalists, 2016” the application in prescribed Form – ‘A’ should be submitted to the O.S.D. & Ex-officio Special Secretary, Journalist Health Cell for the Journalists based in Kolkata at Kolkata Information Centre, 1st Floor, 1/1, A.J.C. Bose Road, Kolkata – 700020 and to the District Information & Cultural Officer of the concerned districts for the Journalists based in the districts. Enrolment Certificate in Form – ‘B’ will be issued by OSD & Ex-officio Special Secretary for the Journalists based in Kolkata and by District Information & Cultural Officers for the Journalists based in the Districts.

In connection with settlement of claims for re-imbursement under “Maavoi – West Bengal Health Scheme for the Journalists, 2016” the application should be submitted within 3 months of completion of treatment to the O.S.D. & Ex-officio Special Secretary, Journalist Health Cell for the Journalists based in Kolkata at Kolkata Information Centre, 1st Floor, 1/1, A.J.C. Bose Road, Kolkata – 700020 and to the District Information & Cultural Officer of the concerned districts for the Journalists based in the districts.

The Sanctioning Authority for re-imbursement of cost of medical attendance and treatment in case of the Journalist based in Kolkata will be Principal Secretary, I & CA Department provided that Principal Secretary/Secretary may delegate this power to the Special Secretary subject to the limits –

1. i) For medical attendance and treatment as an indoor patient in a hospital/nursing home, Rs. 50,000/-

ii) For medical attendance and treatment as an OPD patient in a hospital/nursing home, Rs. 5,000/-

2. The Sanctioning Authority for the Journalists based in the district shall be the District Information & Cultural Officer where –

i) For medical attendance and treatment as an indoor patient in a hospital/nursing home, Rs. 30,000/-

ii) For medical attendance and treatment as an OPD patient in a hospital/nursing home, Rs. 3,000/-

and the Pr. Secy/Secy of the Department where the claim exceeds these limits.

This will take immediate effect.
