NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the constitution of India and in super session of all previous rules and orders issued on the subject, the Governor is pleased to make the following rules for the regulation of recruitment to the post of Director, of the River Research Institute, West Bengal under the department of Irrigation and Waterways, Government of West Bengal, namely:-

RULES FOR THE REGULATION OF RECRUITMENT TO THE POST OF DIRECTOR OF THE RIVER RESEARCH INSTITUTE WEST BENGAL UNDER THIS DEPARTMENT OF IRRIGATION AND WATERWAYS, GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL

1. These rules shall apply to recruitment to the post of Director, of the River Research Institute, West Bengal borne in the West Bengal General Service, and shall take effect from the date of this notification.

Part – I
RULES OF RECRUITMENT

2. (i) Method of Recruitment:

Recruitment to the post of Director of the River Research Institute, West Bengal, shall be made:-

a) by promotion of confirmed Deputy Directors of the River Research Institute, West Bengal, possessing at least 10 years experience as Deputy Director, and/or Chief Research Officer in the aforesaid Institute; or

b) by selection (direct recruitment), Departmental candidates being allowed to apply,

ii) Qualification for direct recruitment:

a) A candidate should be a distinguished Scientist or Engineer with specialized experience of a high order of the Scientific Investigation of problems including tidal rivers and experience of designing, executing and running hydraulic and river models.

b) Age ordinarily not above 45 years relaxable in suitable cases.

iii) Appointing Authority:

The Governor on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission, West Bengal.

Part – II
GENERAL

3. As regards matters not provided for in the proceeding rules, the general provisions of the Bengal General Service Recruitment Rules shall apply.
