In exercise of the powers conferred by section 13 of the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission Act, 2011 (West Ben. Act XVII of 2011), the Governor is pleased hereby to make the following rules regulating the method and the terms and conditions of recruitment to the post of Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations in the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission under the administrative control of the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, Government of West Bengal namely:-
1. Short title and commencement:
(1) These rules may be called the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (Method of Recruitment and the Terms and Conditions of Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations) Rules, 2012.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. Number of post, classification and scale of pay:
The number of the post, its classification and scale of pay attached thereto, shall be as mentioned in the entries in column (2) and column (3) against serial Nos. 2 to 4 in column (1) of the Schedule appended to these rules.
3. Method of recruitment:
The method of recruitments shall be as mentioned in the entries in column (2) and column (3) against serial Nos. 5 to 6 in column (1), of the Schedule appended to these rules.
4. Application of Service rules:
The Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations shall be governed by the Service rules in respect of other terms and conditions of Service as such.
5. Power to relax:
Where the State Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do, it may, by order, for reasons to be recorded in writing, relax any of the provisions of these rules.
