Reservation in Admission in Colleges of West Bengal

All Principal/Officer-in-charge/Teacher-in-charge of Government and Government-aided colleges of the state are advised to implement the total percentage of reservation i.r.o the Scheduled Castes (22%), the Scheduled Tribes (6%), the Other Backward Classes Category “A” (10%) and the Other Backward Classes Category “B” (7%).

NOTICE

All Principal/Officer-in-charge/Teacher-in-charge of Government and Government-aided colleges of the state are requested to comply with the Order No. 65-Edn(U)/1U-89/13 dt. 16.01.2014, 66-Edn(U)/1U-89/13, dt. 16.01.2014 and 67-Edn(U)/1U-89/13, dt. 16.01.2014 contextualized at the backdrop of THE WEST BENGAL STATE HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS (RESERVATION IN ADMISSION) ACT, 2013 and THE WEST BENGAL STATE HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS (RESERVATION IN ADMISSION) RULES, 2013 in course of admission of students in their Institutes for the academic year 2013-14 and onwards. They are further advised to implement the total percentage of reservation i.r.o the Scheduled Castes (22%), the Scheduled Tribes (6%), the Other Backward Classes Category “A” (10%) and the Other Backward Classes Category “B” (7%) and fix up the total number of seats to be increased in each course in such a manner that the number of unreserved seats is not less than the seats available immediately preceding the date of the said Act coming into force.
