NOTIFICATION
Whereas in terms of note 7 after sub-rule (3) of Rule 6 of the West Bengal Primary School Teachers Recruitment Rules, 2016 (hereinafter referred to as the said Rules), it has been specified that the State Government may by notification earmark upto 10% of the vacant posts for the candidates belonging to para-teachers without disturbing the 100 point roster as notified by the State Government from time to time, in such manner as may be mentioned in such notifications to provide adequate representation of the para-teachers;
Now, therefore, the Governor is pleased hereby to direct that during the forthcoming recruitment of Teachers for Primary Schools, 10% of the existing vacant posts shall be filled up by the para-teachers serving at present in various Primary Schools in the State;
The Governor is further pleased hereby to direct that all such earmarked vacant posts are to be filled up as per qualifications and procedures as laid down in the said Rules;
The Governor is further pleased to direct that this 10% reservation shall be treated as horizontal reservation. Out of total 100 vacancies (100 Point Roster of vacancies) 10 vacancies are to be filled up by the para-teachers. Accordingly, 22%, 6%, 10%, 7% of that 10 vacancies to be distributed among SCs (2), ST (1), OBC-A (1) & OBC-B (1) category of candidates and the remaining 5 vacancies are to be treated Unreserved (UR);
The Governor is further pleased to direct that the Commissioner of School Education, West Bengal shall earmark the vacancies for the para-teachers while compiling vacancies as per sub-rule (2) of Rule 4 of the said Rules.
This is issued with the concurrence of the Backward Class Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal under their U.O No. 597 dated 22/09/2016.
