You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are within close proximity of someone who has COVID-19, or by touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose or mouth.
Procurement may be undertaken under Rule 47(14) of West Bengal Financial Rules from more than one source simultaneously if the entire quantity required is not available or not immediately available from one source. Such procurement may be made at different rates, if unavoidable.
To combat the situation arising out of the steep upsurge in the number of people affected by the disease, the State Government is currently required to incur heavy unforeseen expenditure.
In case the person has history of coming in contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days and the person is asymptomatic then the person must be kept in home quarantine for 14 days from the day of exposure.
It is advised to have a considerate view of the matter and restrain from enhancing school fees during the current academic year. Any case of delayed payment/non-payment of the fee by the guardian in the prevailing situation may be considered sympathetically.
Restriction measures stand extended upto 30th July 2021 according to the provisions of West Bengal Epidemic Disease, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020.
Coaching centres for competitive examinations may remain open with 50% of capacity at a time following COVID appropriate protocols and regular sanitization of the centres.
In order to combat the second wave of the pandemic COVID19, some additional austerity measures were imposed in terms of FD Memo No. 1971-F(Y) dated 30.06.2021 on certain types of procurement including procurement of computer and IT related accessories.
Inclusion of other infectious diseases including COVID-19 under the provision of the West Bengal Primary Education (Leave of Teachers of Primary Schools) Rules, 1999 pertaining to Quarantine Leave was under active consideration.

After a review of the current situation of COVID pandemic, State Executive Committee of West Bengal State Disaster Management Authority recommended further extension of restriction measures upto 30.09.2021.
