Dearness Allowance

Dearness Allowance is granted as a percentage of the basic salary to mitigate the impact of inflation on the employees. Consumer Price Index is a determining factor to fix the rate of Dearness Allowance.

Dearness Allowance/ Relief @ 10% of Basic Pay w.e.f. January, 2024

Grant of Dearness Allowance to State Government Employees and the employees of Government aided Educational Institutions, employees of Statutory Bodies, Government Undertakings, Panchayats including Panchayat Karmee, Municipal Corporations/ Municipalities, Local Bodies etc. and also Dearness Relief to the Pensioners/ Family Pensioners.

Dearness Allowance @ 125% w.e.f. January, 2019

Grant of Dearness Allowance to State Govt Employees, Employees of Statutory Bodies, Urban & Local Bodies, Teaching & Non-Teaching Employees of Govt Aided Educational Institutions w.e.f. 01.01.2019.

Dearness Allowance @ 14% of Basic Pay w.e.f. April, 2024

Governor has been pleased to decide that enhancement of rate of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief in respect of the employees and Pensioners/ Family Pensioners shall be effective from 01/04/2024 instead of 01/05/2024.

Dearness Allowance @ 3% of Basic Pay w.e.f. January, 2021

The whole time State Government employees drawing basic pay upto Rs. 2,01,000/-shall draw Dearness Allowance @ 3% of basic pay w.e.f. 01.01.2021. The calculation of Dearness Allowances shall be made taking into account the revised basic pay and NPA.
