Dearness Allowance is granted as a percentage of the basic salary to mitigate the impact of inflation on the employees. Consumer Price Index is a determining factor to fix the rate of Dearness Allowance.

The respective Administrative Department may sanction the benefit of Dearness Allowance @ 52% with effect from January 01, 2013 to the Employees concerned under their control.
