Fair Price Shop is a government-authorized retail outlet that sells essential goods like food and household items at subsidized rates to low-income families, ensuring affordable access to basic necessities.
This Order extends to the whole of West Bengal except the areas where the West Bengal Urban Public Distribution System (Maintenance & Control) Order, 2013 is in force.
Seeding and validation of Aadhaar will be done instantly at FPSs through ePoS machine on the basis of Aadhaar based Biometric Authentication. Aadhaar seeding process is started from 22.07.2021 onwards.
Whereas the Governor is of opinion that it is necessary and expedient so to do for maintaining supplies and securing availability and distribution of essential commodities under the Public Distribution System;
Scheduled time for capturing ration card data at Fair Price Shop level has been extended for the 11 districts viz. Kolkata, North 24 Parganas (excepting municipal areas), Howrah, Hooghly, Purba Medinipur, Purulia, Birbhum, Bankura, Burdwan, Dakshin Dinajpur and Coochbehar.
MSVPs of all medical college & hospitals and Superintendents of hospitals where such fair price shops are located shall procure drugs & consumables under JSSK from these shops.
Fair Price Diagnostic Scheme which includes services like MRI Scan, CT Scan, Digital X-Ray & Dialysis Services is being implemented under PPP at 47 government hospitals. Under this scheme the equipments are being provided through West Bengal Medical Service Corporation.
Finance bids of technically qualified applications were opened and given below are the name of the Hospitals and name of the organisations offering highest discount in the concerned hospital.
The size of the godown should be minimum 400 sq. ft. along with a covered space of 2.00 sq. ft. adjacent to the godown to be used for office purpose and for FPS automation.
Social audit on the functioning of Fair Price Shops, Public Distribution System and other welfare schemes shall be conducted under section 28 of the Act.
Assistant Superintendent (NM) attached to District and Sub-Divisional Hospitals will be designated as Nodal Officer of Fair Price Medicine Shops.
