West Bengal Government Notification related to Government Holidays, Public Holidays, Holidays under Negotiable Instruments Act (N.I. Act) etc.
It is gathered that Chhat Puja will be celebrated this year on 13th & 14th November, 2018. The State Government has already declared holiday on 13th November, 2018.
Shri Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, Ex-Chief Minister, Government of West Bengal breathed his last today i.e. 8 August, 2024.
Classes will remain suspended in all Government, Government Sponsored and Non-Govt aided schools (Primary to Higher Secondary) from 08.06.2015 to 13.06.2015. The Schools may reopen from 15.06.2015.
Governor is pleased to declare 13th September, 2016, Tuesday as Public Holiday on account of Id-Ud-Joha under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881.
Because of the prevailing heat wave it has been decided to approve the proposals of the Boards to reschedule the summer vacation which will now start from 2nd May, 2014 and end on 31st May, 2014.
Schools will be opened on 16th and 17th May, 2016. On these two days, school syllabus may be explained to the students. Schedule of the summative and formative evaluation may be also be informed.
Governor is hereby pleased to declare 1st, 3rd and 5th of May 2018 as public holidays in view of Panchayat General Elections 2018.

In view of the present heat wave prevailing over the State it has been decided to prepone the summer vacation for a few days so as to start on and from 15th – 16th May, 2012.
Governor is pleased to declare 24th September, 2015 as a Sectional Holiday on account of KARAM PUJA for the employees belonging to Tribal Communities in different offices of West Bengal.
