West Bengal Government Notification related to Government Holidays, Public Holidays, Holidays under Negotiable Instruments Act (N.I. Act) etc.
In view of celebration of JAMAI SASTHI all over the state the Governor has been pleased to declare that all offices under the Government of West Bengal shall be closed at 2.00 p.m on Wednesday, the 4th June 2014.
All Offices shall be closed at 4 PM today i.e. 24th December, 2018 to enable everyone to pay homage and respect to the former Minister, Government of West Bengal, Late Shri Nirupam Sen.
Governor is pleased to declare 6th September, 2022 [Tuesday] as a Sectional Holiday on occasion of KARAM PUJA for the employees belonging to Tribal Communities employed in State Govt. Offices all over the State.
Due to sad demise of Abdur Razzak Molla, former Minister, Government of West Bengal, all State Government Offices will be closed for half day today i.e. 11th April, 2025 from 2.00 p.m. onwards.
Uniform list of maximum number of holidays to be observed in the academic session-2015 (01 January, 2015 to 31 December, 2015). The total number of Holidays in the Academic Year would be fixed at 65 days.
Governor is pleased to declare 26th October, 2017 (Thursday) as a Sectional holiday and 27th October (Friday) as a General holiday for State Govt. Offices.
Offices will be closed at 02.00 PM on Tuesday, the 1st July, 2025 on account of the Birth Day of Late Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, Ex-Chief Minister of West Bengal.
In view of the uncertainty associated with the date of celebration of the festival, the Governor is pleased to declare 7.7.2016 and 6.7.16 to be a public holiday.
Governor has been pleased to direct the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board to conduct the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (Medical), 2016.
All State Government offices shall be closed at 2:00 PM on the 25th May, 2023 (Thursday) on the occasion of JAMAI SHASTHI.
