Governor is pleased to declare 17th September (Friday), 2021 as a Sectional Holiday on occasion of KARAM PUJA for the employees belonging to Tribal Communities employed in State Govt. Offices all over the State.
CHHAT PUJA will be celebrated this year (2019) on 2nd November and 3rd November, which fall on Saturday and Sunday respectively. In view of this 4th November (Monday), 2019 is declared as a General Holiday in West Bengal.
Governor is hereby pleased to declare 1st, 3rd and 5th of May 2018 as public holidays in view of Panchayat General Elections 2018.

Governor is pleased to declare 6th October, 2016, Thursday as a Holiday on account of Durgapuja (Panchami) under the N.I. Act, 1881.
No separate notification of holiday on account of the Birth Day of Late Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, Ex-Chief Minister of West Bengal is required to be issued.
You are requested to pass necessary instructions so that schools will re-open after Puja holidays on 27th October, 2014. The matter has been discussed with Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge.
Offices of West Bengal will be closed at 2 p.m on Friday, the 18th day of September, 2015 on account of celebration of Viswakarma Puja.
