West Bengal Government Notification related to Government Holidays, Public Holidays, Holidays under Negotiable Instruments Act (N.I. Act) etc.
Governor is pleased to declare 26th October, 2017 (Thursday) as a Sectional holiday and 27th October (Friday) as a General holiday for State Govt. Offices.
Fateh-Dwaj-Daham will fall on Sunday i.e 04-01-2015 which is a public Holiday under N.I Act and on 24-12-2015, Thursday which has already been notified as holiday.
Governor is pleased to declare the 27th October, 2022 (Thursday) as a Public Holiday on account of Bhratridwitiya under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881.
Offices under the Government of West Bengal will be closed at 2 P.M. on Monday, the 1st day of July, 2019 on account of the Birth Day of Late Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, Ex-Chief Minister of West Bengal.
It is gathered that Chhat Puja will be celebrated this year on 13th & 14th November, 2018. The State Government has already declared holiday on 13th November, 2018.
The President of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) is pleased to declare that the Council will observe following holidays during the year 2018.
Classes will remain suspended in all Government, Government Sponsored and Non-Govt aided schools (Primary to Higher Secondary) from 08.06.2015 to 13.06.2015. The Schools may reopen from 15.06.2015.
As per schedule for the bye-election to 216-Kanthi Dakshin Assembly Constituency as announced by the Election Commission of India, the date of poll is 09.04.2017, Sunday.
Extra ordinary hot conditions are prevailing all over the State. As is the existing practice, whenever there is severe heat wave, all Government, Government Sponsored and Non-Government Aided Schools are rescheduled to morning school.
Emergency units of all Hospitals upto the level of Bedded PHCs will remain open on 24X7 hrs basis in order to tackle any disaster if arise during Puja Holidays.
