West Bengal Government Notification related to Government Holidays, Public Holidays, Holidays under Negotiable Instruments Act (N.I. Act) etc.
Uniform list of maximum number of holidays to be observed in the academic session – 2016 (01.01.2016 to 31.12.2016). The total number of Holidays in the Academic Year would be fixed at 65 days.
Bye-Elections to 14-Bangaon (SC) Parliamentary Constituency and 88-Krishnaganj (SC) Assembly Constituency scheduled to be held on 13th February, 2015 (Friday) declared as public holiday.
No separate notification of holiday on account of the Birth Day of Late Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, Ex-Chief Minister of West Bengal is required to be issued.
In view of celebration of Jamai Sasthi, all offices under the Govt. of West Bengal shall be closed at 2:00 p.m. on Friday the 10th June, 2016 except few.
All Offices shall be closed at 4 PM today i.e. 24th December, 2018 to enable everyone to pay homage and respect to the former Minister, Government of West Bengal, Late Shri Nirupam Sen.

Governor is pleased to declare 20th September (Thursday), 2018 as a Sectional Holiday on occasion of KARAM PUJA for the employees belonging to Tribal Communities.
On occasion of VISWAKARMA PUJA which falls on 17th September (Monday), 2018, the Governor has been pleased to declare that all State Government offices shall be closed at 2:00 P.M on that day.
State Government has decided to observe 1st July, 2020 (Wednesday) as a State Government holiday in all State Government Offices, Educational Institutions, Rural and Urban Bodies, other Grant-in-Aid Institutions, Boards, Corporations etc.
Teachers and other staffs who have duty in connection with the Joint Entrance Examination on 17.05.2016 will attend school and discharge their functions as required by WBJEEB.
