Due to COVID-19 pandemic a number of non-pharmaceutical interventions know as lockdowns i.e. stay at home orders, curfews, quarantines, social distancing etc. have been implemented in numerous countries and territories around the world.

Additional Austerity Measures for Combating COVID-19

State Government is currently required to incur heavy unforeseen expenditure to combat the situation arisen due to such pandemic outbreak. The 21 days lockdown which is currently in force throughout India, has severely affected the economy of the Country and the State.

Lock down Notification in West Bengal wef 01.05.2021

All shopping complexes, malls, beauty parlours, cinema halls, restaurants and bars, sports complexes, gyms, spas and swimming pools shall remain closed (even while home deliveries and online services shall remain permitted).

Lockdown in West Bengal Extended upto 30.09.2021

After a review of the current situation of COVID pandemic, State Executive Committee of West Bengal State Disaster Management Authority recommended further extension of restriction measures upto 30.09.2021.

All outdoor activities including movement of people and vehicles shall be strictly prohibited between 11 PM to 5 AM except for health services, law and order, essential commodities including agricultural produce and other emergency services.
