Lockdown
Due to COVID-19 pandemic a number of non-pharmaceutical interventions know as lockdowns i.e. stay at home orders, curfews, quarantines, social distancing etc. have been implemented in numerous countries and territories around the world.
All Government, Government Aided and Government Sponsored educational institutions including training institutions will remain closed until further order in public interest.
All outdoor activities including movement of people and vehicles shall be strictly prohibited between 11 PM to 5 AM except for health services, law and order, essential commodities including agricultural produce and other emergency services.
After a review of the current situation of COVID pandemic, State Executive Committee of West Bengal State Disaster Management Authority recommended further extension of restriction measures upto 30.09.2021.
Wearing of mask is compulsory. Strict social distancing of 2 metres for all. All public places, streets, housing complexes, residential areas and work places to be cleaned and sanitized at regular intervals.
All shopping complexes, malls, beauty parlours, cinema halls, restaurants and bars, sports complexes, gyms, spas and swimming pools shall remain closed (even while home deliveries and online services shall remain permitted).
Coaching centres for competitive examinations may remain open with 50% of capacity at a time following COVID appropriate protocols and regular sanitization of the centres.
Only asymptomatic officers and staff shall be allowed to attend office on rotation basis. Anyone with any sort of symptom like mild fever, cough and cold need not attend office.
Intra-state (inter-district) movement of government and private buses w.e.f. 01/06/2020, with passengers not more than the actual seating capacity of the bus. No passenger shall be allowed to travel standing in the bus.
All government offices related to non-emergency and non-essential services shall now function with 50% of total strength.
After a review of the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic, in view of the overall decline in total caseload and positivity rate and overall improvement in the situation, the restrictions imposed can now be revoked.
